A course to refresh holders of the SMSTS.

The SMSTS certificate lasts five years, after which candidates must sit the two day refresher course to renew the certificate and keep their qualification up to date. The two day refresher course is only available for candidates who have attended the five day course and can provide evidence of attendance.

The course is designed to help SMSTS certificate holders stay up to date with their knowledge. The course will;

improve awareness of recent developments in construction legislation and health, safety, welfare and environmental issues

help site managers face the responsibilities imposed on them by new legislation and working practices.

At the end of the course, there is a multiple choice examination which must be passed in order to keep the qualification. The certificate is valid for five years.
